Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (VMRF) established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and founded in 1981 by the Founder-Chancellor, Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram. The Union Ministry of Human Resources Development conferred University status on Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (VMRF) in 2001. Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation Deemed to be University (VMRFDU) is a pioneering and vibrant university which offers a multi-cultural experience with an ambience marked by the perfect harmony of living in diversity. The university is committed to offering education in the profound and professional manner that ensures enormous and majestic growth potential to our students. One of the reputed and prestigious universities in India, VMRF boasts of the most diversified education in terms of the number of faculties, ranging in the field of medicine, paramedicine, engineering and technology to management - almost the entire gamut of academic disciplines. Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation boasts an extensive academic landscape which comprising 13 Colleges and 11 Schools, including distinguished entities such as 3 Medical Colleges, 2 Engineering Colleges, 1 Dental College, 1 Pharmacy College, 1 Homeopathy Medical College, 3 Physiotherapy Colleges/Schools, 3 Nursing Colleges, 2 Arts & Science Colleges/Schools, 5 Schools of Allied Health Sciences, and 1 School dedicated to Law, Physical Education, Rehabilitation and Behavioral Science. These institutions are spread across four campuses in Salem and Chengalpet Districts, as well as Pondicherry and Karaikal of the Union territory of Puducherry. All the Programs offered by VMRF(DU) are approved by respective statutory authorities. VMRF(DU) is Accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade and ranked in NIRF and ARIIA.
